This section of research has introduced me to ways of constructing the image of the artist. not only is the music itself a key factor, but for filming a music video other aspects such as location are a key factor to creating the right effect. Also, things such as lighting will add a certain type of mood and tone to the overall look of the video. If this is wrong, then the whole video could look wrong.
It is important at this stage we realise and identify what does and dose not work depending on the genre of the music, the artist themselves and the lyrics in the song. All three of these factors are important to consider when we come to our planning stage.

This is a little vague - can you also add some specific things you have learnt about styling your artists and constructing your video to make it feel genuine as an indie-pop item? You could also add some genre theory about why it is important to ensure the genre conventions are clear....
