Post 2: Outline of Initial ideas

Our initial idea is to use music from the band, The Script. we intend to use the brief of making a music video, allongside a promotional advert and a digi-pack including front and back pages of an album with a few inlet pages.

We are hoping as a group to obtain permission from Sony Entertainment to use the song  'If You Ever Come Back' performed by The Script for our music video.
For the actual filming of the music video, we hope to use several different locations in order to gain a variety of shots from different places to tell a narrative within the music video. Toderov's theory, of Equilibrium, disruption and re equilibrium, we intend to create a minature narrative within our media product in order to engage the audience. This thereby follws codes and conventions used proffesionally within the music industry, and i hope to apply this to my music video.
An ambitios place to film is within the M.E.N Arena. If funds and time is avaliable, i think that filming in an empty concert hall will really set the tone for the music video, with a single spotlight on our "artist" performing to thousands of empty seats would set the overall sad tone of the song perfectly. This idea is ambitious, and is subject to the avaliability of the arena.

For the advertisment in a magazine for the print part of the task, we intend to use the college Mac's and programmes such as InDesign and Photoshop to create a proffesional look to our advert.
Also for the Digi-pack, photoshop and InDesign will be key to creating a proffesional styleof layout. below is an example of The Scripts album, front and back covers of the album Science and Faith which was relesed in early 2011.
